USN Aircraft Carrier USS Essex Brass Medal Emblem in the middle of this solid brass dish. This is a large Brass Circular Insignia Medal with the Latin inscription E Navibus Pugnissima for the United States Navy’s Aircraft Carrier – USS Essex motto. It has embossed / raised lettering, an eagle clutching a shaft of wheat and acanthus leaves, with Poseidon’s hand holding a trident with the number 9 superimposed in front of the eagle. A once in a lifetime opportunity for collectors to own a piece of naval history / war memorabilia. There’s a hook on the backside to hang on wall. Marked: “USS ESSEX – 9 – E NAVIBUS PUGNISSIMA”.
