Lot of 6 Vintage US Navy Fouled Anchor, Officer’s Mess Hall Plates, made by Shenango China in New Castle, PA, USA. The plates are white and have blue bands with a blue US Navy “fouled anchor” top mark. Each plate is 7″ in diameter across the top rim and 7/8″ high. Signed on the base “Shenango China New Castle PA USA”. In overall good vintage condition but both bowls have three small, shallow chips on the back of the bowl. The chips are evenly distributed – each about a third of the way around the bowl – unsure if this is a defect from when they were made or something to do with how they were stored or cleaned. Some mild stains on back of bowls as shown. Each has some minor surface wear and utensil marks from use. They are the best description.
