The Battleship New Jersey Memorial in Camden, NJ, is in a multi-year project of replacing the 80 year old wood deck (original WWII era wood) Original pieces of the teak are obtained from this restoration. A 4″x4″x2 block of this original deck has been turn on a lathe into a small bowl. The whole block is for illustration only and will not be included. I’m showing what I started with to create the bowl. The bowl is handcrafted from the cut blocks received from the battleship. I left the original “live” deck surface as the bowl rim. The rubber gasket around the “dog tag” makes for a very stable foot for the bowl. A paper Certificate of Authenticity, as received from the USS New Jersey Museum and Memorial will be included.
