For Sale: If you run an R390 or R390A, here is the diversity converter set designed for it. This US Navy AN/URA-6 Teletype Diversity Converter & Demodulator set was designed for IF signal input such as that supplied by its design initiative: the R390 & R390A. This was the US Navy’s last true FSK demodulator. Units following this such as the URA8 or URA17 were tone modems and used audio signal input. The URA6 is a robust diversity demodulator system offering 24 x 7 coverage and It is very easy to service as well as set up and use. Each of the three units are designed to pull out and then flip up to reveal the chassis area or flip down to reveal the tube layout. They use (not supplied) relatively inexpensive MS style connectors available at most electronic part dealerships such as Allied or Newark to name but two. Tubes are common mini-glass types. The CRT is a common tube and replacement is usually relocatable. The CM-14 is only needed during diversity reception; the CV-57’s simply demodulate what is fed to them. When diversity mode is used, they feed the CM-14 and the CM-14 composites one best signal out of both. Internal service cables are present but no external. A full copy of the US Navy URA6A Original Linen manual comes with it which details, among other components, both the CV57 and CM14. This uses popular and easy to find 7 & 9 pin glass to metal tubes (vacuum tubes) and may have an early diode rectifier, I cannot remember now. You should have access to a tube tester as well ad an in-circuit capacitor tester to check, at a minimum, the power supply caps. These are very good converters and once serviced will provide reliable support. This is a good companion for the SP600, R390, R390A or similar tube radio. This ad & its pictures will receive some follow-up attention if better pictures or more information is needed. A free military 19 cabinet goes with them. Condition: Excellent physical condition, always stored in a smoke free air conditioned environment. The plastic sleeving on wire sets has hardened somewhat with age. This is normal and sleeving can be replaced with Alpha spiral wrap wherever there is a bend that needs to flex. The 6 series Amphenol connectors are available from many sources and not all of them need to be used. Buyers experienced in RTTY will get the most out of this unit. We will supply proper 10-32 mounting screws. Please study the photos and ask any questions now. The item “US.
