40s Vintage US Navy Seabees Shawl Collar Selvedge WW2 Denim Uniform Jacket Boro. This Seabees Navy Work Uniform Jacket belonged to my uncle Bill Jenkins who served in the South Pacific. Uncle Bill passed away when my dad was young, at which time this jacket became his property. The tears were repaired by my grandma with denim patches (the kind that came in a multipack from Montgomery Ward) and my dad probably wore it to antiwar protests. Or more likely for drinking beer and leaning on muscle cars. Anyway, the jacket came into my possession about 10 years ago and I wore it sparingly. It looks amazing with khaki chinos and a plaid shirt, or with crisp raw jeans and a white tee. This jacket would work for a collector, but I think it deserves to be worn. Excellent condition, considering it dates to the 1940s. The denim has faded nicely, there are some dirty patina spots, and some rips and repairs (see photos). Most of the original ring-back Navy enamel buttons are present. Theres a hint of selvedge peeking out of one of the side seams – just one of the great details.
