WWII ISSUED FIGHTING KNIFE. KNIFE IS IN GOOD OVERALL CONDITION. W/Slight Bend to Left in Blade at Finger Guard. This is a Very Common Condition for this Particular. It Proves it was Actually Carried and Used During. Moderate Patina, Rust, Pitting. W/Torn Strap On Sheath. Vintage KA-BAR 1219C WWII issued Fighting Knife and The Issued Leather Sheath stamped. The Knife itself is in good condition and it does the verifiable Slight Bend to the left in the blade at the finger Guard, this Slight bend is one way to actually verify the knife saw action and was carried during WWII. It has a Torn Leather strap on the sheath and right below that rivet that attaches that strap to the sheath you will see the stamp. Sheath and KA-BAR Knife Was Carried, Used During WWII. The WWII KA-BAR Fighting knife measures 11-15/16 O. Which is Military specs on this knife. ” Measured Day Of Listing Items “. The KABAR WWII Issued Fighting Knife has Lite to moderate Patina and pitting with some rust and the slight bend in the blade to left side at finger guard, read explanation on why this is very common and should always be looked for when purchasing this type of WWII Knife. The Sheath has seen some action same as the WWII Issued KA-BAR Fighting knife did during WWII and for some years afterwards as the Elderly man who owned it carried with him up until about 12-15 years ago, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and decorated WWII Veteran and he used this knife many times on hunting and fishing trips. This was a Genuine WWII 1943 issue. The sheaths stampings are hard to see in person and in my pictures but I took special care to capture these attributes for you. It was approved by the Quartermaster in November of 1942 and Issued to troops in 1943 and used during WWII, it did some serious damage to enemy combatants according to first hand accounts by it’s owner and American WWII Soldier. The Service member was a WWII Military German Trained Linguist or Translator during the war but he was placed in this position because he spoke German Fluently. His travels during the WWII Effort took him around the world to Both the Pacific Theatre and European Theatre’s. Back to the knife, I want to stress that this knife was well used, The Guard is somewhat bend up on one side a little and the leather handle is dinged up a little but otherwise. ” This WWII Issued USN KA-BAR Fighting Knife and Sheath set is Original and a Surviving Set”.
