For sale is an absolutely incredible piece of early United States Military Patriotism. These Army Navy “E” production awards were given to United States companies who qualified for and surpassed certain guidelines and criteria set forth by the United States Government to help support the war efforts during World War 2. If you are familiar with this award then you probably have seen the varieties of employee production pins that were awarded to individuals or maybe even a company pennant, but this award on the other hand is something truly astonishing you will not see. This historic plaque was commissioned and gifted to Chef Boyardee (Ettore Boiardi) and the Boyardee Company for their spectacular production efforts by the United States Government. This item has just been cataloged and will be included in a wonderful Home Front War Ration Book that is soon to be published. Made of quality chalk-wire, the plaque is a multidimensional rendition of the iconic home front symbol award symbol. The plaque featuring a magnificent”E” symbol with a complimentary wreath in the center with three striped red, white, and blue accents on two sides. This piece is molded beautifully and is all hand-painted. Highlighted above, the hand-painted inscription reads CHEF BOY-AR-DEE QUALITY FOODS, INC. ” while below reads “EXCELLENCE IN PERFORMANCE OF WAR PRODUCTION. Reverse of the chalk-wire plaque, a ground down curvature backing with soft ground textured felt with original copper hanging wire and two eyelets. 18″ across 16″ height and approx 1 1/2 at thickest point. Small damage/repair to the top right and some other signs of minor damage including a small crack running through the bottom right side towards the middle.
