US Naval Aviator Helmet with Visor for Pilot or Naval Flight Officer. Its all original, including the patriotic reflective tape scheme. Im not a helmet expert, but I believe this is an APH-6 from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Theres a decal on the outside back of the helmet which no doubt specifies the model and size, but its largely obscured by the reflective tape, and I dont want to damage the color scheme to verify that information. If the exact model is important to you, I recommend you examine the photos closely and do your own research. The scrapes, scratches, and scuffs are pretty typical of genuine military flight helmets, as they were worn hard and subject to a certain amount of abuse. In fact, some pilots liked to sport a worn helmet to show they werent rookies. Protecting the noggin, after all, came second to looking cool. Condition of this helmet is only fair, as the foam cushions inside are deteriorating and a few screws appear to be missing. Examine the photos closely and feel free to ask questions.
