An original US Navy velvet WestPac Souvenir/tour jacket of the Korean war era. Given the context of how most of these are found this example is in excellent wearable condition. There is some minor d arning to the pocket edges, light marks here and there and some expected small areas of thinning to the nap of the velvet in places but no holes, no rips or tears and the exterior is generally in excellent shape. The jersey cuffs, hem and collar have no holes and are again generaly good but with expected historic fade and natural discolouration. The’West Pac’ tour embroidery to the back is clear, vibrant and in good condition. The interior of the jacket has marks and stains as shown but this is obviously unseen when worn and the jacket was professionally dry-cleaned before being stored so there are no unpleasant odurs. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 17 (item laid flat and measured across one side). Pit to pit: 21 (item laid flat and measured across one side). Outer shoulder seam to end of cuff approx 23″ as it is a raglan sleeve but measured from back of neck to cuff end: 31″. Back of neck to hem: 22.
