An exquisite and extremely rare U. Navy Flight Surgeon wing manufactured by Bailey, Banks, and Biddle Co. Wing is so marked, full size and was proposed to the Navy in the 1950’s as a replacement for the 1942 Flight Surgeon Wing. This design was not accepted by the Navy. See page 132, Chapter 4, United States Navy Wings of Gold 1917 to the Present, by Ron L. Willis and Thomas Carmichael. A prize piece for the advanced wing collector. Not many seen for sale in the past ten plus years. Item will be sent small flat rate and insured.

(J 142) For sale here is a great looking US WW2 USN Navy Flight Officer’s Dress Green Uniform Jacket. The jacket is tailor made. The jacket is complete with Navy Lieutenant Line Officer’s Sleeve Rank, nice wide Navy three place pin back ribbon bar with 3 PTO stars, nicely toned gold bullion Navy Flight Wing, and a Felix The Cat Navy Hell Cat Squadron Pin. The squadron pin is pin back with nice enamel and a C hook catch. The jacket was made by Weintraub Bros & Co. Of Philadelphia and is marked size 40L. Unfortunately, the jacket is not named. All buttons are present and the jacket is very nice. The jacket does show light use and age, and there is one small cut just below the wearer’s lower left pocket, that is not really noticeable. This is a great jacket with some great patches and pins. You will be pleased! Measurements are below for your convenience. Armpit to armpit: 21. Top to Bottom W/ Collar: 34. This is an original USN or USMC Grumman F-8 Bearcat Aircraft Carrier Fighter Wing 50 cal. This can is in excellent condition. It is 32 x 10 x 6 inches and weighs 7 pounds. Built in 1945 the Bearcat was the fastest piston engine aircraft of its time at a top speed of 471 MPH. The Bearcat was designed to replace the F6F-5 Hellcat fighter. World War 2 ended before the Bearcat could get into combat. By the time of the Korean war the Bearcat was replaced by Jet fighters. This gauge is in excellent condition and appears to be used. It is 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 x 3 1/2 inches. It is marked 0-185 gallons. For many years the F-8 Bearcat has been raced at the Reno air races. One of the fasted piston aircraft is Rare Bear.
