The collection includes 1 Admiral Willaim Mayhew Folger [1844 1928] served in the American Civil War, Spanish American War, Commander-in-Chief U. Pacific Fleet, 2 Admiral Arent S. Crowninshield [1843 1908] served in the American Civil War and the Spanish American War. During the Civil War he served on the Ticonderoga and participated on the assault Fort Fisher. During the Spanish American War, he was appointed to the Naval War Board and had a large part in the United Straes Naval Operations planning that resulted in resounding victories like the Battle of Manila Bay. 3 Admiral Edwin Stewart [1837 1933] served in the American Civil War, later as Paymaster General and Chief of the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts of the U. 4 Admiral Walter S. Crosley [1871 1939] served in the Spanish American War, awarded the Navy Cross for his action, later served in World War I, secured and rescued a party of Americans out of Russia while serving as an attache in Russia. The USS Crosley is named in his honor. 5 Admiral Richard C. Dean [1833 1910] began his naval career 1854 after graduating from medical school, served in the American Civil War as a surgeon, later appointed as Fleet Surgeon. 6 Admiral David W. Bagley [1883 1960] served aboard the Great White Fleet 1908, served as a destroyer commander World War I, and commanded during World War II. 7 Admiral David M. Kindleberger [1834 1921] began his naval career in 1859 as an assistant surgeon, during the American Civil War he served in combat during numerous naval engagements, promoted to surgeon in 1862 and fleet surgeon in 1880. 8 Admiral Edward E. Hayden [1858 1932] noted for his work as a scientist, in the areas of hydrography, meteorology, timekeeping and served as the Secretary of the National Geographic Society of Washington among many other prestigious posts. This is a very unique piece of art by one of the foremost sand artists R. It features the iconic wings of gold and is matted/framed. The sand artists is rough textured and in the light has elements that sparkle (just like sun hitting sand in the beach). The sand art piece is approximately 8″ x 10″ bordered by a 1.25 cloth matte and that is bordered by a raised wood style frame. Both the outer frame and the matte have light scratches or nicks/dings present. The face of the sand artists has a few light discoloration spots, but overall it’s in good shape with good color. The size of the frame is 18.25″ wide by 16.5″ and is approximately 1.5 raised. Please review pictures provided for details of condition and please ask any questions before purchasing.

Amazing very hard to find US Navy Submarine Good Conduct Medal. Belonged to Walter Zomnir who was aboard the USS S-20. Dated September 27th, 1929. USS S-20 (SS-125) was a first-group (S-1 or “Holland”) S-class submarine of the United States Navy in commission from 1922 to 1945. She saw duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and during World War II operated off New England. In addition to duty along the northeastern coast of the United States while based at New London, Connecticut, from 1922 to 1929, S-20 visited Coco Solo in the Panama Canal Zone in March 1923; served at Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, in February 1924; and operated in the Panama Canal area from January through April 1926. S-20 visited Kingston, Jamaica, from 20 to 28 March 1927, and served again in the Panama Canal area from 17 April 1929 to November 1930. Following duty there, she departed on 20 February 1932, and from March 1932 to April 1933 served at Mare Island, California. Later, she operated mainly at San Diego, California, into 1934. This rare 1929 US Navy Submarine Signed Named Medal is a must-have for any serious collector of militaria. The medal comes with an original photo of the submarine, making it a unique piece of history. The medal is an original period item that is sure to impress any collector. DETAILS: Original Alexander Knox hand signed U. Naval Aid Auxiliary signature card. Measures 5″ x 2.75″ inches. Naval Aid Auxiliary (NAA) was established during World War II to assist the United States Depart of War in maintaining a series of stations across the country to provide temporary housing and entertainment for servicemen and sailors during their rotation from one location to another. They received a large portion of their funding from public donations, much of which was raised by many of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Appearing at signings for these specially prepared autograph cards as a fundraiser was popular among the stars. They took little time to sign, were considered very patriotic and greeted enthusiastically by a ready public. The NAA organized the signings of the cards and all signatures were written on specialty printed lithographic paper that bore the NAA name and artwork. They measure 5″ x 2 3/4″ inches.
