Original Schlueter front-seam swivel bale M1 helmet, heat lot 4? 6A, with a visible’S’ stamp. Has some rust, especially on the chinstraps and buckle, and fraying on the chinstraps near the bales. ORIGINAL WW2 Front Seam Fixed Bail M-1 Helmet from the USS Wisconsin named to Hale on the rear. Helmet is made by McCord and number 632D. The helmet is a fixed bail and retains both original chins straps on the shell. Helmet is painted USN Blue and has Wisconsin on the front and Hale in white on the back (see pictures for more condition details). Helmet has original Westinghouse liner painted blue on the outside with what appears to be a red star on the front. Liner has khaki suspension and blackened A-washers. Great original USN helmet. An original US Navy Chaplain helmet. The helmet was manufactured during Ww2 and is a swivel loop front seam Schlueter repainted a Navy gray, The straps have seen better days. I believe this helmet was used during the Vietnam war as a Chaplains helmet but maybe used during the Korean War. I will let you determine the time frame. I will be glad to answer any questions.
