EXTREMELY RARE, ORIGINAL , AUTHENTIC Handmade/Hand-made/Hand-sewn US Navy’s A-6E Intruder VA-75 Sunday Punchers 1972 Vietnam War Combat Cruise/Deployment while onboard the USS SARATOGA (CV-60). It says “WHEN YOURE AS GREAT AS WE ARE” (top), “IT’S HARD TO BE HUMBLE” (bottom), and “WESTPAC (left), “1972” (right), “SAGE (bottom). It shows the USS Saratoga (CV-60) as the top image, the VAW-123 Swirl (bottom left) and the SUNDAY PUNCHER logo (boxing glove bomb with wings) in the bottom right with the yellow/red background of the Vietnam conflict ribbon. This patch has “no” backing, a “cut black” border, has a “fully embroidered background”, does not have velcro on the back, and shows the dimensions in the photos… The ruler on the right is 6. This is from THE BEST INTRUDER PATCH COLLECTION I’ve ever seen, and comes from a retired US NAVY CAPTAIN’s collection I just acquired, and hope to find this gem a good home. This is an original Vietnam War USN USMC Grumman A-6E Intruder Nose or Cockpit section complete with all the interior items. This is a real A-6A Intruder converted to a KA-6D then cut up to be used in the movie “Flight of the Intruder”. I spent the last 20 years collecting all the missing parts to restore this cockpit as an A-6E for display. It is now finished and located in San Diego California in a museum. I do not have the original Bu. The cockpit has the correct GRU-7 pilot and BN ejection seats complete with seat kits, straps and parachute containers. The pilot’s side has all the instruments, throttle quadrant, VDI, Gunsight, control stick and rudder pedals, etc.. The Bombardier Navigator side is complete with a radar scope, radar control pedestal and all the console boxes that make up the weapons system. The BN side will also come with the radar scope big plastic cover to make it easier to see the radar. Sticking out the top of the nose is the correct inflight refueling probe. The boarding ladders fold out and can be used but they hit the ground. The canopy and windshield glass is good with no damage. It has the correct radome with no damage. The canopy can be opened and closed with a hand crank in the back of the cockpit. The entire cockpit is sitting on a 5 foot by 12 foot 6 inch metal cart that does roll. It has a set of rings on the front that hook to a tow bar to move the cockpit. The entire cockpit is 19 feet 6 inches long 8 feet 6 inches wide and about 9 feet 10 inches high.
