ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa World War II United States Navy submarine combat patrol badge by Gemsco. The badge is in sterling silver with two gold patrol stars. It is the early style and has a locking catch. VINTAGE: Circa World War II. SIZE: Approximately 1/2″ in height and 2-1/4″ in width. MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, gilt brass. ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch; stars have brads. ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy. CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light wear and tarnish. GUARANTEE: This piece is guaranteed to be original, as described. The other two I’m uncertain of their origin or if they are replicas.

Post WWII Model 1852 USN-US Navy-Naval Officers Etched Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked “Gemsco”. The brass guard and grip have a little movement. The twisted wire is complete. The etched blade has not been sharpened but the tip is sharp, no nicks, has a very slight bend, and there is some surface rust spots scattered throughout. The leather scabbard is solid, has some wear to the lower half towards the drag, it is missing one drag screw and a hanger ring has been removed. Length of the blade measures 28″ (11/16″ wide x 3/16″ thick), length of the sword is 33 1/4″, and overall in the scabbard it is 33 3/4. Check out my other War items!!
