This is an original WWII issue non folding machete. Equipment for the Navy M-592 Para Pad Survival kit. It also had many other survival applications. This is in used very good condition. It is maker marked by Case XX. It has a leather lanyard. Although the blade shows wear, there are no nicks or damage. Wood handle is solid with no damage. Here’s a very unusual piece of US military web gear that I cannot find another example of anywhere.. It was owned by US Navy Reserve Chaplain J. GLASSER and I’m pretty sure it dates to WW2 or maybe earlier. His name and service number are stenciled on the outside flap. I cannot find another marking or label on it anywhere but it certainly appears to be a military item made of heavy canvas duck outside with a lighter canvas interior. It folds up with numerous straps and buckles and measures about 28″ by 20″ when closed. It has a big leather carrying handle. When you un-snap the 3 interior hooks, it folds out to measure 56 long. Inside is a place to hang either uniforms or maybe Vestment Robes and have then protected very well. There are number pockets inside with snaps and outside with buckles.
