Very rare only example i have ever seen for sale, direct from a navy CPO estate who served on the USS Valdez…. One of the main things denoting this to be a correct commissioning medal is the DE designation this designation only existed July of 1974 to June of 1975. DE stood for Destoryer Escort which was changed to Frigate. USS Valdez (FF-1096) is the forty-fifth Knox-class frigate and was built by Avondale Shipyard, Westwego, Louisiana, and originally designated as an ocean escort (DE-1096). Commissioned in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1991, she was the first U. In 1998, Valdez was leased to Taiwan and renamed Yi Yang (FF-939). Well worth a read and some research…. If something ever happens with china down the line this very rare never seen medal might be worth a fortune. A small lot of other items belonging to him is also listed… Commissioning medals are tough to price they rarely enter the market and prices range from 20 dollars to thousands… Please see my other militaria and collectibles!

WW2 WWii US Navy Deck Jacket Second Pattern Lobster Clip. For sale I have my personal Second pattern or Lobster clip US navy deck jacket in near mint condition. This jacket has minimal flaws including a small hole on sleeve pictured and some wear on sleeves. Overall the knits are in really great shape which is rare for these. The jacket is extremely dark with a very visible back stamp. The clips as well are extremely clean and functioning with only minor rust/ oxidization on some. The tag which is missing some stitching reads NXss25614 which makes this specific jacket made by Lustberg Nast Co with the contact completed in September of 1943. The jacket measures about a 24 inch pit to pit and about 26 inches neck to hem. Overall a rare sought after jacket in an even rarer great condition. Rare WWII Navy Deck Jacket, Blue Style With Metal Clip Fasteners. Measurements are as follows; chest 51″, shoulders 21″, sleeve is 26″, back length is 25″. Im not very knowledable on measuring jacket size I hope these measurements help. There are only a few small things wrong with the jacket. There is a 1 inch cut on the bottom in the inside of the right pocket, both sleeve ends have some fringing and the collar has a few small holes. The tag has started to come unsewn but it still has the stiched name tag on it! This is a gorgeous piece of history.
