This was found still bound with the string shown in the photos. A true time capsule. The book is in good condition with moderate wear. The ffep has been removed. No smoky or musty odors. Several period items were found inside the manual. First we have an extremely rare U. Navy & Merchant Marine Signal Chart. It has been beautifully preserved in the book and is in pristine condition. Also found inside is a period magic card trick with instruction sheet, an envelope with several negatives of the soldier to whom this belonged, Four calling cards with signatures, a pink ribbon bow that was used as a marker, and a sheet of paper containing “The Kaiser’s Prayer”. The soldier’s name is on the top of this sheet and is also on one of the calling cards. Twelve photos posted and questions are welcomed. I pack all of my items with care and respect for the item. I know that the package could be mishandled en route to its destination, and I pack the item accordingly. Corners should be protected.
