Up for sale is an original World War II military aviation flight navigation document titled “HAWAIIAN AREA BOOKLET”, dated 1 July 1945, published by the Air Navigation Office for the Commander Air Force, Pacific Fleet. This original WWII RESTRICTED manual was compiled to give naval aviators and pilots operational navigation data, airfields, radio frequencies, and island target charts across the Hawaiian Islands during the final months of WWII. Key Features & Included Pages. Official Identification: Cover marked RESTRICTED and issued under the authority of Commander Air Force Pacific Fleet. Radio Aids & Emergency Procedures: Contains detailed breakdowns for Radio Range Stations, VHF/DF, Ground Control, YG/YN Stations, Searchlight Beacons, Air-Sea Rescue Task Units, and “Lost Plane” / “Aircraft in Distress” emergency procedures (including Oahu beacon light instructions and Pearl/Kaneohe NAS radio frequencies). Navigational & Tactical Maps: Includes green and white lithographed charts of the Hawaiian Islands detailing military airfields Ewa, Ford Island, Kaneohe, Hickam, Wheeler, Bellows, etc. Format: Multii-page softcover booklet with maps, lithographed by the Air Navigation Office.
