USS NEW JERSEY BB-62 NAVY BATTLESHIP STATIONERY. Blue Artcraft Portfolio has a Gold embossed USN & Anchor Emblem. Not sure if this has ever been used. There are 12 Envelopes with the Battleship depicted on the Envelope. Only sheet 1 Stationery letterhead has the. Battleship depicted on it (qty 13). There are 15 pages of sheet 2 Stationery, no letterhead. I do not know what era this stationary comes from but I believe it was prior to 1991. Envelopes measure 7 5/8″ X 4″. Tablet measures about 10.5″ x 7.5″. Portfolio measures about 11 1/8″ x 8.25″. (BB-62) is the most decorated battleship in Navy history, earning distinction in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and conflicts in the Middle East. S history spanned over half the 20. Century, from her design in 1938 until 1991. She was launched on the first anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and went on to steam more miles, fight in more battles, and fire more shells in combat than any other battleship in history. In World War II, the. Led the Pacific Fleet under Admirals Spruance and Halsey and fought in the two largest naval battles in history. She was reactivated to fight in the Korean War, and again to fight in the Vietnam War, when she was the world’s only operating battleship. She was reactivated for a third time in the Cold War to halt Soviet expansionism and resolve conflicts in the Middle East. After fighting fascism, communism, and terrorism, she was decommissioned for the final time in February 1991. The Battleship New Jersey Memorial in Camden, NJ, is in a multi-year project of replacing the 80 year old wood deck (original WWII era wood) Original pieces of the teak are obtained from this restoration. A 4″x4″x2 block of this original deck has been turn on a lathe into a small bowl. The whole block is for illustration only and will not be included. I’m showing what I started with to create the bowl. The bowl is handcrafted from the cut blocks received from the battleship. I left the original “live” deck surface as the bowl rim. The rubber gasket around the “dog tag” makes for a very stable foot for the bowl. A paper Certificate of Authenticity, as received from the USS New Jersey Museum and Memorial will be included. This sale is for a “named” USS New Jersey uniform. It was owned by D. However, the uniform was very clean and covered in plastic wrap. Then I noticed the New Jersey insignia and I could not resist. My love for American history and the incredible story of the New Jersey merged. The uniform has been in my closet all these years and now it is time for another collector to keep….. And display this wonderful piece of American history. The New Jersey is now a museum docked in Camden New Jersey. It is alive and well. One year after Pearl Harbor.
