An absolutely marvelous grouping from a WWII USN Airship pilot who later became a Naval Aviator. Research material is also included. This grouping contains some research documents, two leather name tags (one showing a USN 1/2 wing for Airship Pilots, one showing a full size aviator’s wing); two 1/2 wings (one early period marked with Meyer Shield, the other marked LGB for Balfour)-both pin back; one bullion 1/2 wing for work uniform; one full sized Naval Aviator’s wing marked AMCRAFT with the snowflake pattern and pin back; a naval hat badge for work uniform back marked Vanguard and 1/20th 10K GF; a captains clutch back rank insignia marked Sterling and H&H; an unmarked pin back Ensign’s rank insignia; two golden oak leaf rank insignia (one pin back, one clutch back), one unmarked, one back marked 1/20th 10K and H&H. All items are original period pieces, all metal insignia are die struck. Documented groupings are very scarce and difficult to come by. Please consider viewing my other listings (there are only about 100+) and adding me to your favorites list as I will be listing many more interesting and unusual items in the future. The item “573.
