Very rare full U. Navy uniform set from WWII. Rare to find a full set together like this. When originally found, most of the items were tightly wrapped into tightly folded bundles tied with thin white rope. They had been dumped into a dusty old box in an attic. The duffle bag contained the original piece of paper from the US Naval Hospital in Annapolis, MD dated May 5th, 1945. The soldier’s name was Zachary Schneider of New Jersey. All of these garments have his name. As far as the size, I would say the man was about a medium, maybe slightly smaller. The denim jacket is 16″ from shoulder to shoulder and 23″ from shoulder to cuff. Bag contained: 2 navy uniforms (each slightly different), one white uniform, 1 collared Denim Indigo Jacket, 1 Chambray Shirt, hat, neckerchief and slide, pair of leggings. Condition: I have done nothing to try and clean these, they are exactly as found. Covered in dust, attic grime. It is a combination of surface dirt and general discoloration from time. They don’t appear to show abnormal amounts of wear from use. The neckerchief is the main item that had a good amount of holes. The hat is also a bit rough. The denim jacket shows some lighter colored areas, not sure is this is wear? So I think it would clean up. Denium Jacket: Shoulder to shoulder: 16.5″ Pit to pit: 19-1/4″ Sleeve length: 23″ Chambray Shirt: Shoulder to shoulder: 16″ Pit to pit: 20″ Sleeve length: 24″.
