The wood was removed from there decks during various restorations. Once the wood was acquired, I cut it down keeping part for myself and making these. The display includes a letter of authenticity as a whole as well as copies of documentation from the USS Iowa, New Jersey, and Missouri museums where I squired those pieces of wood directly. This is a great item for any navy, history, or WWII enthusiast! This is a piece of every completed Iowa Class battleship that served in World War II and with Missouri, where the Japanese surrender was signed. I have been collecting artifacts for over 20 years.
