Hutchenson as well as eagles, USN, anchor, etc. The hilt and handle are gold and feature an eagle’s head, letters USN, sea creatures and a leaf pattern. The end cap shows, and eagle surrounded by stars. The tassel and ribbon are also in excellent condition. The blade scabbard appears to be black leather with gold decorated end caps as well as a center band. The forward end cap shows a marvelous sea serpent. The forward end cap has a small ding in the gold medal. The outer scabbard is black leather and embossed with the initials D. The two straps holding the flap are broken. Again, this is a fabulous piece of naval history. The swords overall length is about 35 inches and was made by N S Myer and trade marked Conqueror.
