FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS AN ORIGINAL USN TASK FORCE 77 PATCH. FOR THE CARRIER USS KEARSARGE CVA-33. This is a nice condition, original cut-edge, machine embroidered 1950’s Japanese made Task Force 77 variant, pocket patch (approximately 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches), with some wear & some mild fraying. What makes this patch so unique is the silhouette of the aircraft carrier added to the top left of the patch. US Navy Task Force 77 was established late in World War Two; however, during the Korean War, thousands of air strikes against Communist North Korean and Chinese armies were carried out by carriers operating as a part of this task force. From 1952 through 1955, USS Kearsarge served three tours of duty in the Far East before. Undergoing modernization in 1956-57. Many more patches coming soon.
