Twewnty-two were awarded the Silver Star medal for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action, eight were killed in action, forty-five lost their lives in military aircraft operations, and twenty-five received Purple Hearts for combat wounds. Five classmates were prisoners of war held in North Vietnam. One classmate walked the surface of the moon and received the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and another scuba dived under the North Pole to receive many attaboys from his proud classmates.
