This is an original WWII poster “Loose Lips Might Sink Ships” by Ess-ar-gee Seymour R. Goff and published by the House of Seagram. This poster was created in the 1940s and measures roughly 21.625 x 27.75 inches. Including the linen backing, it measures roughly 25.25 x 31.5 inches. This is one of the rarest and most iconic of WWII posters. This poster was meant to be hung in bars to prevent people from talking about sensitive war information. This poster is in good condition and has been professionally linen backed. Before linen backing this had pinholes, a small tear near the right upper border, some creasing, and some border wear. There are some minor light marks on the poster, specifically in the white lettering, which are difficult to see unless looked at closely. The red color has faded and looks somewhat “blotchy” – this could possibly be restored by a professional but I chose to leave this up to the next owner as I think it looks good as is. All close up pictures were taken just a few inches from the poster. There has been some minor restoration work, specifically on the upper left corner where there was a mark from a paper clip and on the mentioned tear and pinholes. This is a detailed description – overall this poster looks very nice and is ready to be framed. This is an extremely rare poster and it is very difficult to find it in any condition. This is a must have poster for any WWII collector. Please see all photos for the condition as the photos are part of the description. Please contact me if you have any questions.
