A scarce original pair of the so-called’fat’ Kriegsmarine Zeiss’blc’ 8×60 binoculars, which were issued to and used exclusively by U-Boat commanders. This pair are a set which came from ex-Royal Navy stocks after being captured, and clearly exhibit remains of the black stores overpaint (over the original German factory paint). The black layer has been partially stripped away to reveal the original paint, which has been protected and clearly remains in very good condition. Once the rest is removed then the new owner will have a wonderful example with a very high percentage of the original finish still intact! The optics still remain clear, collimated and useable as is – with only a slight haze caused by minor outgassing. There is NO fungus or anything more sinister. Naturally, this pair would make the perfect addition to a display within any KM or U-Boat related collection, as well as comprising an item which can still be used today! Many thanks for looking and please feel free to check out our other WWII German optics, accessories etc. The item “WWII German Zeiss BLC 8×60 Kriegsmarine U-boat Commander Binoculars WW2 Fernglas” is in sale since Monday, August 9, 2021.
