Post WWII Model 1852 USN-US Navy-Naval Officers Etched Sword with Scabbard, Sword Knot, Dust Cover, and Carrying Bag. The ricasso is marked “Germany” over an Eagle, over Hillborn Hamburger Inc. New York” over Made in Solingen Germany”. The guard and grip are tight. The grip is plastic. The twisted wire is complete. The sword knot is in good condition and it is complete. The etched blade is clean, straight, has not been sharpened, the tip is very sharp, and it has the name “Roger Donald Olney” on it. The scabbard is solid with no dents and just a couple extremely small spots of loss. Length of the blade measures 30 3/4″ (3/4″ wide x 3/16″ thick), length of the sword is 35 7/8″, and overall in the scabbard it is 36 1/2. The dust bag is a little dirty with a couple tears, the biggest being at the top going down the seam about 5 1/2. The carrying bag is in decent shape but very stiff, the flap has R. ” on it, also “Hillborn-Hamburger”, handle is attached, stitching has let go in at the opening going down one side (stops at the skinny part) and there is also one small spot that let go about at the halfway point, and the bag measures roughly 38″ overall.
