The very rare 1st version Polish Navy cap eagle made for the exiled Polish sailors. Believed to have first been made by Kenning of London in 1940 to re-equip the small Polish Navy, the contract then taken over by the bigger Gaunt of London maker. These early badges made with two fragile pins at the back for attaching, as is so often the case, they are missing on this example. Otherwise, the badge is near mint. Has the blue paint to the inner shield. Gilt finish to the anchor. Aside from the pins, you will never see a better condition example of this rare early variant.
