A very rare item. This is a genuine 1943 US Navy military sextant, in the original box. It isnt quite perfect (the horizon mirror is past its best) but it has clearly been used. US Navy Bureau of Ships E. Sextant Mark 2 Mod 0 (N) 29076. Contract no NXSX 42867 1943. Made by Bendix Aviation Corporation. Teterboro, New Jersey, USA. Numbers on the actual sextant and the certification match. Correction details dated Jan 9 1945. Original hardwood ply case with brass handle and catches, sound. Case is 30 x 28 x 14cm. Collection, and cash on collection, is welcome. I will not be leaving daily for despatches. I now have arrangements with Hermes for collection from me using a’safe place’ arrangement. However that collection will initially only be once per week to protect myself and my reliable local Hermes agent. Please also allow a little extra time for couriers.
