Rarer than a Hen’s dentist, an original USN N1 Deck Jacket circa 1946. These jackets are cult items for outsiders world-wide, real collectors pieces and as such are very hard to come by. It’s more of a wearable antique than a vintage garment. It is the big daddy of all winter jackets. I had a professional tailor take a section of the alpaca wool from the internal sleeve and refurbished the collar and replace the Talon zipper like-for-like. There are multiple frays, stains and marks on the jacket – but you try getting through WWII and 73 years unscathed! The patina on the fabric, however, is glorious – and it gets a lot of complements. The fit is a modern medium, not baggy and it sits at the hip – check the measurements, the wool and jungle cloth are thick and I’d recommend taking 1/2 inch off the pit to pit measurements.
