Post WWII Model 1852 USN-US Navy-Naval Officers Etched Sword with Leather Scabbard, Dust Bag, and Carrying Bag. One side of the ricasso is marked “H-H” inside an eagle for. Hilborn-Hamburger, “Imperial Quality Stainless”, over “Made in Germany”. And on the other side “Stainless” over “Proved” inside the star. The brass guard, grip, twisted wire are all tight, also the grip and twisted brass wire are complete. The portepee is in excellent condition. The etched blade is straight, clean, and has not been sharpened but the tip is sharp. Felt washer is intact. The leather scabbard looks great,, the brass is a little dull but otherwise perfect. Dust cover has quite a few small holes in it. He carrying bag has a nice eagle with crossed anchors stamp on it, it also shows the most wear and is missing part of a latch strap. The bag may not be original to this set, it is much longer than it needs to be, 42 overall. Length of the blade measures 28″ (11/16″ wide x 3/16″ thick), length of the sword is 33″, and overall in the scabbard it is 34 1/8. Check out my other War items!!
