(J 28) For sale here is a very large US WW2 US Navy foul weather deck jacket. This jacket is marked size 48 and fits larger. The jacket features a waist belt with plastic buckle, six button and Conmar zipper front closure. All buttons are present and the zipper is tricky to start but is functional. The jacket has two front slash pockets, a button flap front breast pocket, two button sleeve tensioners, grommeted armpits, fur lined hood, hood drawstrings, and hood hider buckle. Inside, the sleeves are cuffed at the wrist with brown ribbed cotton. The cuffs are hard to see but seem to be in good shape. The body of the jacket is made of a treated light OD canvas. The canvas has a small hole on the front of the right shoulder and at the collar where the tag was stitched in. The USN stamp on the pocket shows fading but is legible. The entire jacket shows light wear, minor soiling, and some fading. The right sleeve shows considerable sun fading. The jacket was treated for water resistance and has lightly stiffened. Inside, the jacket is fully lined in faux alpaca fur. The fur is very nice and shows only minor wear. The collar has a Navy department contract tag and is marked size 48. This is a great jacket in an exceptional size that will be great for wear or display. Measurements are below for your convenience. Armpit to Armpit: 25. Top to Bottom: 41 without hood.
