All photographs are part of the description. Here is a 1930s WWII era US Officer’s dress sword with scabbard, fore and aft hat, epaulettes, sword belt, sword knot, and tole ware box. The sword has no edge as it was only used for parade dress. It measures 35-3/4 inches long overall. The blade measures 30 inches long and the original gold accented leather scabbard measures 30-3/4 inches long. The scabbard has a dolphin wrapped around the tip, which matches the sword guard. The blade is engrave decorated on both sides with anchors, flags, shields, knots, crosses, and a 6 pointed star. It is marked Made in USA but there is no maker’s name. The hat is made in Norfolk, Va by the Frank Thomas Company, makers of Cavalier Quality uniforms. It is a size 7-1/8, and has just the tiniest minor wear spot on the very top. The epaulettes are made in France and are in excellent condition with Ensign’s bars and Navy Anchors. I read that these epaulets are usually Gold bullion and the insignia are silver – and that the especially French ones are of the highest quality. The sword belt and knot can both benefit from a proper cleaning. The tin box has a dent on the lid and is scratched up on the bottom. It has initials on the lid in gold. There is a little bit of a musty odor to the items inside the box. Please review the photos for a complete description.
